This 15-foot roll of electric fence grounding wire is used to attach the grounding rods to the energizer.
Grounding is key to an electric fence working properly. In dry soil, you may need 2 or 3 ground rods. The energy must travel out the animal’s feet, through the soil, and then into the energizer’s ground terminal. This completes the circuit and the animal is shocked. When shocked, the animal is trained to respect the fencing. Start with one ground rod if you have wet, compact soil. If you add more, plan to get wire to connect the ground rods.
